Written by reading Vibe's own database, not by adapting a template. The list below is everything it stores. There is nothing else.

1. What we store

For each server Vibe is in:

While music is actually playing, and only then:

For each user who uses a saving or statistics feature:

2. What we do not store

We do not build profiles for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

3. Why we store it

Server settings, so the bot behaves the way you set it up. Saved tracks, so you can play them again. Listening statistics, so /rank and /leaderboard have something to show. The playing queue, so a restart doesn't cost you the queue you just built. That's the whole reason any of it exists.

4. The Vibe Activity

When you open the Activity with /watch, Discord gives it a temporary authorisation code. Our server exchanges that with Discord for a short-lived access token, used only to confirm who you are for that session. That token is never written to our database and is discarded when you close the Activity.

Album artwork is fetched by our server from the music source and passed on to you, so the artwork host never sees your IP address.

5. Signing in on the website

Signing in at playvibe.gg is optional — the bot works fully without it. If you do, Vibe asks Discord only for your username and your list of servers. It cannot read your messages, and it never sees your password or your email.

Your browser is then given a single cookie. It holds your Discord user ID, display name, avatar reference and the access token from that sign-in — encrypted, and marked so that no script on the page can read it. It is strictly necessary to keep you signed in, so no consent banner is required for it, and there are no other cookies: no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers.

The cookie expires after seven days. There is no copy of it on our side, so signing out deletes it entirely — that is the whole of it. Clearing your browser's cookies has the same effect.

6. Sharing

Your data is not shared with third parties. It is stored in a MongoDB Atlas database operated by MongoDB, Inc., which processes it solely on our behalf as a data processor.

Vibe runs several bot accounts (Vibe, Vibe 2, Vibe 3, Vibe Beta) off one database, so your saved tracks and listening time follow you across all of them. That's on purpose, and it's the only "sharing" that happens.

7. Retention

Data is kept while you use Vibe. Server settings are kept while Vibe is in that server. A playing queue is kept only until playback stops, and never longer than 30 minutes. Operational logs are kept briefly for debugging and contain no message content.

8. Your rights

You can get a copy of everything stored about you, or delete all of it, at any time and without giving a reason — no request needed. Run /privacy in any server Vibe is in, or in a DM with it, and use the Export my data or Delete my data button. Only you can see the reply, and deletion asks you to confirm first.

If you'd rather not use the commands, ask in the support server and it will be handled for you.

Deletion removes your entire record, including saved tracks and all listening statistics, and cannot be undone.

Under the GDPR you also have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to its processing. If you believe your data has been handled improperly you may complain to your local supervisory authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).

9. Legal basis for processing

We process this data on the basis of legitimate interest — providing the features you asked for by running the command. You can withdraw from that processing at any time by requesting deletion and no longer using the saving and statistics features.

10. Children

Vibe is not directed at anyone below Discord's minimum age for their country. If we learn that such a user's data has been stored, we delete it.

11. Security

Access to the database is restricted and credentials are never stored in the codebase. No system is perfectly secure, and we make no absolute guarantee.

12. Changes

Material changes to this policy will be announced in the support server before they take effect.

13. Contact

The Vibe support server is the fastest way to reach us about anything on this page.
